A Stand for Protection and Justice: Darius’ Story

This campaign is not just about my child—it’s about all children who suffer from a broken system, and the urgent need for reform. By bringing our case to the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), we seek to expose the flaws in Poland's legal system, where abuse continues unchecked, and children like Darius are left without protection.

We are not just fighting for justice for Darius; we are fighting for the safety and well-being of every child in Poland who is being failed by the very system that should safeguard them.

The Broken System: A Failure to Protect

Poland’s judicial system has been internationally criticized for its failure to uphold basic human rights. The European Union has imposed sanctions, citing concerns about judicial independence, further delaying vital cases. Human Rights Watch emphasized these failures in its 2021 report: “The systemic failures of the Polish judiciary silence children’s voices and ignore their rights.”

Darius’ Story: A Cry for Help

Darius, a bright 11-year-old boy, has suffered physical, emotional, and psychological abuse. He has lived in conditions no child should ever face, where his basic rights have been violated and his safety ignored. Despite clear and undeniable evidence, the court refused to act, turning a blind eye to the abuse.

"Polish courts often dismiss credible evidence of domestic violence, leaving children exposed to danger." – UN expert Reem Alsalem
